Summer Horsemanship clinic - 25 January

Te Rangi Farm is set in the hills in Hunua with the ranges wrapping around in a 180 degree expanse. The summer horsemanship clinics are designed to help participants to ride across hill country with a toolbox of horsemanship skills which will support them and their horse to feel confident and safer.

The clinic starts with essential groundwork skills as a basis for all groundwork and progresses to introducing groundwork with obstacles and groundwork techniques that can progress to liberty.

In the afternoon there is a ridden session on the arena introducing techniques for safer riding out on the trail and concludes with a farm hack around beautiful Te Rangi farm. There are varying trails available tailoring to a variety of abilities.

The summer horsemanship clinic is suitable for riders wishing to learn or further their horsemanship skills and safe riding skills under saddle.

Participants need to have basic handling skills and the ability to keep control of their horse in a group teaching situation.

If you are unsure, or would like to be more prepared, we recommend a one on one horsemanship lesson prior to a clinic.
